The Chattanooga Area Chapter was founded in 1957 to serve safety professions and members in related fields. The goal of the chapter is to provide professional development opportunities for its members through informative meetings and seminars and to provide services to the community in the field of safety. The chapter meets on the second Tuesday of each month from September through June.
The American Society of Safety Engineers was founded in 1911 and is the largest organization of safety professionals with more than 30,000 members. The mission of ASSE is to be a global association providing professional development and representation for those engaged in the practice of safety, health and the environment and providing services to the private and public sectors to protect people, property and the environment.
Within the ASSE foundation there are 8 Regions. Regions consist of Chapters, Sections, Society Sections, and Student Sections. The Chattanooga Area Chapter is a part of Region 7. Please visit their webpage at http://region7.asse.org/
