Welcome to the official website of the Chattanooga Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers. Here, visitors can learn more about our organization and members can keep abreast of Chapter activities.
The Chattanooga Area Chapter was founded in 1957 to serve safety professions and members in related fields. The goal of the chapter is to provide professional development opportunities for its members through informative meetings and seminars and to provide services to the community in the field of safety. The chapter meets on the second Tuesday of each month from September through June.
The American Society of Safety Engineers was founded in 1911 and is the largest organization of safety professionals with more than 30,000 members. The mission of ASSE is to be a global association providing professional development and representation for those engaged in the practice of safety, health and the environment and providing services to the private and public sectors to protect people, property and the environment.

Basic DOT Compliance
Speaker: Gary Holbrook of Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc.
The class will cover:
- Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations with the "new" hours of service regulations.
- o CSA 2010/Safety Measurement System: how to navigate and use the system.
- o How to maintain good scores in the seven BASIC's being used now, enforcement actions & penalties, and the current status of litigation involving motor carriers.

This course will take the place of our normal November meeting. The cost of this class will be $75 for members & $100 for non-members. This course is opened up to our members and others in your company.
